Metal Flag

Making a simple metal flag is easy and inexpensive!

Materials::

  • Metal (ours is made from a scrap piece of tin from my Grandpa’s farm)
  • Masking Tape
  • Spray Paint (red, white and blue!)
  • Piece(s) of Paper
  • Sponge
  • Scissors
  • White Craft Paint

Steps::

  1. Spray the metal white.
  2. Cover up a square in the upper left corner with paper and then use masking tape to make stripes. Spray stripes red, let dry; peel off masking tape.
  3. Cover the stripes with paper/newspaper and spray the square blue, let dry.
  4. Cut out a star in a sponge. Using white craft paint, stamp stars on the blue!
  5. You’re finished!

We have the  metal flag hanging on our door for now!

My First Quilt

I have made my first quilt – a simple patchwork quilt!
It has lacked the binding for over a week and I finally convinced myself to take the time to finish it! It looks really good, it is not perfect but it is my first quilt so I didn’t expect perfection!
It’s an odd shaped quilt but I was learning as I went!

I cut out squares from 3 different fabrics and sewed them together to make the quilt top. I was surprised how simple sewing the quilt top really was!

It’s a perfect size for a baby! How sweet will it be to have our future children snuggle, picnic and use a quilt made by their mama – my first quilt!
