Pizza Crust

We love my homemade pizza crust! It’s so easy to make and homemade pizza is frugal! {We save so much money versus purchasing pizza…and oftentimes homemade is better.}

We enjoy pizza nights on the weekends and having friends over to share a delicious meal of homemade pizza!

I hope you enjoy this recipe!

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons yeast {or 1 “packet”….however, it is much cheaper to purchase yeast in larger quantities!}

1 cup warm water

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons olive oil

3 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt, olive oil and 3 cups flour; mix. Add more flour if the dough seems “sticky”.

Place dough in greased bowl, turning to grease  top; cover. Let rise 1 hour or until doubled in bulk; punch dough down.

Brush pizza pan/stone with oil. Press dough on pan; add toppings. Bake at 450 for 15 to 20 minutes.

{The pizza pictured is Chicken Alfredo! One of our favorites!}

Apple Bread

A few nights ago I was in a baking mood but didn’t want to make cookies or pumpkin bread! Instead I came up with this recipe for apple bread using chunky homemade applesauce! It’s moist and delicious!

Ingredients:

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

3 eggs

2 cups sugar

1 cup oil

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 3/4 cups  chunky applesauce

Directions:

Mix flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and baking powder in large bowl.

Beat eggs and add sugar, oil and vanilla.

Combine egg mixture with dry ingredients. Stir in chunky applesauce.

Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Enjoy!!

*I actually made one loaf of bread and half a dozen large muffins! I baked the muffins for 20 minutes.
