Our Kitchen

Welcome to our kitchen! It’s a little bit smaller than our former kitchen but we really love the layout! We like the cabinets and black appliances (although I must admit we miss our refrigerator on top and our gas stove but we’re thankful these are nice and clean!)

The only “new” addition to our kitchen is the black ‘B’. It was on the front door of our house and was gold; John David worked his spray paint magic and gave it a new life!

The kitchen sink and dishwasher (the most important appliance…right?) I love that our condo has an open floor plan and I can wash dishes and talk to John David in the living room!

The counter is not actually a bar however we already had these stools and they work in the space! In fact, we’ve already enjoyed breakfast at the “bar”!

I’m also very thankful that we have a pantry! I went from having 2 closets in the kitchen to just one so it was a bit of an adjustment (and that is why the top shelf is so cluttered!)

Now I’m ready to start cooking in the new kitchen! Time for soups and casseroles in the Boreing home!

  1. Your new kitchen has a great layout! I'm so jealous, we have a galley kitchen and it's just terrible for more than one person. I bet you can't wait to start cooking! 🙂

  2. I am amazed at how quickly you have set up the house! We have lived in our home for 3 1/2 years now and barely have pictures on the walls!! Great job!

    1. Honestly I've been amazed too! I knew for my sanity that I needed to work fast last week while John David was home with me and able to care for Paxton! I was able to get the kitchen, living room, nursery and bathrooms organized! Our bedroom is lacking attention and the guest room/ office is John David's responsibility! The living room is the only room that has pictures on the walls…my "picture hanger" has been busy!!

  3. Hi Rachel! Your kitchen is great! I was wondering where you store your canned foods? I did not see them in the pantry. Do you have a organization/storage system for them? Thanks!

  4. Everything looks great! I just love your kitchen (your new home for that matter). Looks like you got everything under control. Bless you all.

  5. There are a few canned goods on the 3rd shelf. I honestly don't purchase a lot of canned food items. The only canned items I typically purchase are tomato paste, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, rotel (generic, of course!) and refried beans. All of those items are sitting on the left side of the 3rd shelf!

I used to purchase more canned items (vegetables, soups, etc.) and I'd organize them on a pantry shelf in "like" categories (ex. tomato products together, vegetables together, fruits together.) I'd always put the newer items towards the back so we'd use the older products first!
