The $215 Goal: Month 1

Last month I shared about my $215 Goal. I want to sell $215 worth of stuff from around my house from July to December. The money I earn from selling our unwanted stuff will be applied towards extra principal on our mortgage.

How did I do in July?

I sold 2 items on eBay. I was hoping I could sell more but July was a very busy month (including a week of visiting family).

The 2 items I sold were baby clothes and I earned $7.16 on them which is not much at all but it’s a start!

Now I have $207.84 left to reach the goal which equals around $42 a month! I just went through baby clothes and my clothes and am decluttering this week (again…it seems to just multiply!) I am going to list several items on eBay, Amazon and Craigslist and take some to Once Upon a Child.

  1. I stumbled across your blogs months ago and you inspired me to de clutter and (recently) start listing things on ebay – so far its only been my sons clothes, he seem to grow out of things over night.

So far i have earned around $19 on ebay, and we have also gotten rid of 20-30 house hold items.

  2. That's a great start, Rachel! $42 sounds like alot per month, but as you said, you were really busy. Slow and steady wins the race! 🙂 Great job!!
