Homemade Pancakes

Until recently, my pancakes came from a box! I was missing out on the goodness of homemade pancakes! They are so easy to whip up and taste much better than any pancake mix!

1 1/4 cups self rising flour

1 cup milk

2 T sugar

1/4 cup oil

1 egg

Mix all ingredients together and cook! These are easy and delicious!

  1. Oh YUMMY!! And when you can’t afford to buy real maple syrup (we can’t;) but don’t like the aunt Jemima’s syrup, here’s a recipe that can beat it hands down and it’s inexpensive!!

    1 3/4C white sugar
    1/4C brown sugar
    1C water

Bring to a biol, cover, and cook 1 minute. Cool slightly and add:

    1/2t. Vanilla
    1/2t. Maple Flavoring

Cover saucepan for a few minutes as syrup cooks to melt down crystals; helps prevent syrup from crystallizing later in storage. Keep in fridge.

Enjoy the delicious pancakes (and syrup!).

  2. Oh yummy! I have a whole wheat recipe that is so good. I need to whip up a bunch and freeze them again since they go great in the toaster oven before school!

  3. Honey instead of syrup works well with a bit of cinnamon powder!
You can even make a birthday cake with pancakes. Just lay them one on top of each other and in between you can place your favorite fillings, cream, jam, chocolate spread etc…
I’ve done it several times for my kids when I didn’t have access to an oven!
