Packing Away Winter Linens
Posted by Rachel on Mar 12, 2010 in real life | 7 commentsThis past Monday John David and I stripped our bed, beginning the process of packing away winter linens! We pulled off the quilt, the blanket, the heated blanket, the fleece sheets and the mattress pad! (We are both cold natured, that’s why we have fleece sheets and a heated blanket plus another blanket and quilt…it’s quite cozy in the winter!)
The plan was to wash all the linens on Tuesday and get them packed away in my linen closet! On Tuesday I washed the mattress pad and hung it on the clothesline to dry! I also washed our quilt but forgot all about it, so it stayed in the washer overnight (thankfully it did not sour) and I lined dried it on Wednesday!
On Wednesday I hand washed the electric blanket (which was an experience) and washed our blanket! However, the sheets haven’t been touched…still!!
Here is where the linens are now (a far cry from neatly packed in the linen closet!)

The mattress pad and heated blanket are draped over the guest bathroom shower rod! These were both line dried and weren’t quite dry when I brought them in…

The quilt and the blanket are in my sewing chair and have been there since Wednesday!

And of course the wonderfully cozy fleece sheets! Yeah, they are sitting on top of our dog’s kennel, yet to be washed!!
Some weeks I tend to procrastinate! I can partially blame it on the weather because I wanted to line dry everything to avoid wasting electricity but after 4 days it’s beginning to be pure laziness!!
Maybe in 4 more days I will be able to say that packing away winter linens was a success!!
