Seems like December is quite a special month for your younger daughter! How amazing that her children’s birthdays are 1 day apart!!

After “confessing” my shortcomings Friday, I did manage to get most of my failures fixed…nothing like sharing to get you motivated!!

I’m dreading those last couple of weeks! I’m still feeling great now (minus a little tiredness & lack of motivation at times) but I know the day is coming when I’ll be miserable!!

And I’ve talked to other mom’s, I do believe I’ve probably slept my last solid night of sleep for years (I’m sleeping light & waking frequently already!)

Very true!! I’ve become a bit of an expert at letting the dishes pile up lately…but trying to stay on top of the laundry! Of course I know the laundry will triple once the baby arrives!!

Okay sounds like we’re just alike!! I will let the little things just sit and then one day I clean EVERYTHING…from top to bottom!!

you need to rest! i remember at the end of my pregnancy with my 1st (11 years ago) i was so tired. and the first few months too. rest while you can!

This is the perfect time for you to neglect your house and rely on hubby, friends, or family to pick up the slack. You need to SLEEP! A lot! And put your feet up. Heaven knows you won’t be doing much of either for the next several months after Paxton is born!

Hi Rachel:

I just recently found your blog, and I love it! Your video’s are excellent. I am a mom of 3, a boy 11 (our surprise!) and 2 daughters ages 23 & 25. You remind me so much of them. The younger dd is married and has two “babies”. She was married on December 15, 2007, her boy was born on December 14, 2008, and her daughter was born on December 13, 2009. Whew! She is very frugal and sticks to her budget. But they are renting an apartment and saving (and looking) for a house. Even though you had a crazy week, what a blessing that you are already in a house before the birth of your first child. And, just like my son-in-law, the Good Lord has blessed you abundantly with a wonderful, godly man. My older dd is single and is still at home, and what an angel she is to our family. I am grateful for the extra time I have with her.

Post-travel always makes for a clutter in our homes, plus all the new gifts that have to be incorporated. Fear not, you will get some bursts of energy here and there!

Just wanted to introduce myself. We live in a small town in Western NY. I am now on my way to babysit, as my dd and her husband are looking at a house this afternoon – they are taking her dad with them while my son and I watch the “babies” (he is quite a big helper!)

You are sweet! I want to warn you that by the final weeks, I always felt something akin to a circus act! In the final two weeks, virtually all I could do was hike myself out of bed and PRAY that baby would arrive today! The final few weeks are just exhausting. Make sure you take time to rest and enjoy some special dates with your husband. Celebrate the closing of this chapter. And sleep to your heart’s content, girl! My eldest of four is now 10.5, and my youngest is 10 months. I don’t think I’ve had a decent night’s rest in over 10 years! Ha!

If those are the only failures that you’ve had this week, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. You need to rest when you feel like you need to. All of those things will be there when you get around to them.

I can relate to “fails” like the toiletry bag one! I always leave little things on the side, walk past them for days and eventually do them when the day comes when I have extreme motivation to actually do all those little things I let pile up!

You are not alone! Get your rest now, when you can. I am sure everyone tells you that, but it is great advice!

Sweetheart, you are pregnant. You are busy. You’re a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, an employee. You cant do it all. Dont beat yourself up about it.

Are you familiar with the “Fly Lady?” I am reading her books now to help me get the house organized and keep it clean!

I am praying for you.
