Meatloaf with Sweet & Sour Sauce

This is one of John David’s favorite meals! His mom made this meatloaf  when he was growing up! I had never liked meatloaf  until I tried this and I love it! It’s really easy, inexpensive and delicious!

Meatloaf:

1 pound hamburger

1 egg

3/4 cup oatmeal

salt and pepper

Mix together all ingredients. Bake in a greased baking dish on 375 for 45 minutes.

Sweet and Sour Sauce:

1-8oz can tomato sauce

2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp. mustard

Boil all ingredients and pour over meatloaf last 10 minutes of baking.

*We typically make this in a small cast iron skillet however we have baked it in a loaf pan and an 8×8 casserole dish!

Hubbie is not a fan of meatloaf but he loved this recipe! I loved that it was just right for the two of us. We had it for one meal and he ate the leftovers while I was away for a couple of days visiting family. Chicken Alfredo Pizza was also another hit. We have made it twice & my husband said he wouldn’t mind seeing that recipe once a week. I found a reasonably priced pizza stone at Big Lots & now my sister wants one. I plan on doing a birthday basket for her with all the fixins to make pizza. Keep the recipes coming!

I know this post is a few months old, however I just tried this recipe. My husband and I just love it! If I seen it in a cook book I may have just past it over, however I thought I would try it after seeing it here. It was a different twist for meatloaf and totally great.
    Thank you

  7. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
