Hi Rachel,

I recently posted our financial goals for 2009. We have been following Dave Ramsey's plan for about 18-20 months, and have accomplished a lot. We started out trying to bend the rules a bit, but we ended up changing and following his steps pretty rigidly--I encourage you to think about focusing intently on one goal at a time. Debt first, emergency fund next, paying down mortgage after the other two are completed. You really will get there faster if you don't try to do too many things at one time. You guys will get there! You will find you become even better at the plan as time goes by. I also recommend reading "Your Money or Your Life". I am reading that as part of the Simple Mom book club. It makes you think at another level beyond Dave Ramsey's plan.
